River Cottage Stinger Organic Ale Eco Product Review

I’m back to tasting and test organic beer which sounds good but I was a bit reticent about this one. Vintage Roots sent me a selection of beers and included in that was this River Cottage Stinger Organic Ale, made from nettles. Yep, organically grown hand-picked Dorset nettles.

River Cottage is the place started by celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and continues to this day. He partnered with Badger Ales for this brew and it says it is “tongue tingling”.

Although I wouldn’t describe it the same, it is crisp, full of flavour and a really good drink. I couldn’t tell it was made from nettles at all, in fact it tastes more or less like any other beer, but a nice one at that. The bottle is also nicely designed and it exudes quality. It’s certainly a talking point among friends too.
