Recycling On Paradise Island

The BBC has a great article on the difficulties of rubbish and recycling on a small island, in this case on the Isles of Scilly. With the nearest mainland over 30 miles away there is a problem.

Over 2,000 people live there, yet with the vast numbers of tourists (120,000 a year) on only 16 sq km of land, the rubbish is literally mounting up. Yet they have made great strides in the areas of recycling and reusing waste, and have lessons that much bigger islands could learn a great deal from. Continue reading on the BBC.
