The first fully street-legal production electric motorbike by Brammo is available at Enertia Bike.
The almost silent bike has a range of 45 miles (at an average speed of 25mph), eclipsing the average daily commute (in the US) of 29 miles and it has a top speed of over 50mph. It can go from 0-30 mph in 3.8 seconds. The battery reaches an 80 percent charge in 2 hours and is fully charged in 3 using a regular electrical socket.

Eco Shopper says “The Enertia’s power ratings (12-25 horsepower) make it comparable to the gas powered Kawasaki Ninja 250 in terms of horsepower. Its easy to drive judging by product reviews. You can use it in warm climates, reasonable commutes and short errands.”
The standard model will be release in 2008 for $11,995 and a limited edition model for $14,995.

… Good idea … but a little on the expensive side; to bad the Ninja is 9 to11 thousand cheaper.
