Ford Hosts Weekly Live Chat

I’ve attended this a couple of times and realized I haven’t mentioned it to anyone. Every Tuesday at 9am PST, 12pm EST on their Ustream channel Michael Collins gives a the behind the scenes scoop on all things Ford. “The DigiKnow events will stimulate unique and informal conversations with experts from Ford, as well as providing demonstrations of some of the innovative Ford technologies”. They have had some great insights into the Ford Fusion and also NASCAR and hybrids.

Don’t Bin It, Recycle It

A recent animated video from Recycle Now has been released, highlighting the need to recycle small electronic devices. The aim of the film is to remind people not just to bin their waste electrical goods and tell them about where and how they can dispose of it responsibly (UK based).

The campaign is also being supported by the interactive ‘Regeneration Game‘ (based on the Generation Game) in which users put in their UK postcode before playing and then the game cleverly features details of their nearest recycling facilities.

Our Little World – The Climate Movie

This short film was created at the University of Applied Sciences Augsburg during a student’s project that focused on ecology and climatic change.

It is an animated short of about four minutes duration about the complexity of our little world.

“One day, an adorable elderly couple, sitting in their cosy allotment, starts to wonder: ‘Where does all our stuff originally come from?’ While taking a closer look at their electrically powered chicken grill, they backtrack the causal relationships that lead to our material prosperity.”

Greasy Rider Alternative Fuel Documentary Now Available

JJ Beck and Joey Carey’s terrific documentary about alternative fuels, Greasy Rider, is now available to rent and purchase (such as on

The documentary is a cross-country road trip powered by vegetable oil in a 1981 Mercedes-Benz. Greasy Rider follows the two filmmakers, Joey Carey and JJ Beck, as they meet with fellow Greasecar drivers, friends, and critics. Some of the guests in the film include Morgan Freeman and Yoko Ono. You can watch the trailer/preview below.

X-Prize Crazy Idea Finalists

I previously wrote about the X-Prize Foundation who offered $25,000 to the craziest video idea to choose the idea that should be explored as the next $10m X PRIZE in Energy and the Environment.
