Why Drink Ready-Made Cocktails Instead of Going to the Bar?

So, you just got off your last day of work before the weekend, and you’re ready to unwind with a stiff drink. You don’t want to spend time, effort, and money on buying everything to make your favorite drinks at home. So, what do you do? Do you just give in and go to the bar?

Well, you can, but there’s a better option that we think you’ll enjoy quite a bit: Ready-made cocktails.

Can these canned cocktails match the quality you get at the bar? Should you skip the bar to stay home and crack a couple of cans open?

We think so. Here are some of our top reasons you should skip the bar and grab some canned cocktails this weekend.

Price:

Drinking at a bar is expensive. The average drink is going to cost you between $7 and $12. That’s just for one drink, and no one drives all the way to the bar just for one drink. By the end of a particularly “loose” night, you might spend $100 or more depending on how complex your drinking tastes are.

With ready-made cocktails, you can spend a fraction of that, usually only $20 or so, and get top-of-the-line cocktails in a substantial package. So, if you’re just looking for a quick drink, you have one or two and call it a day, but you still have plenty left for future drink-worthy occasions. Even if you go wild, you won’t spend much at all.

Consistency:

Bartenders aren’t usually very consistent. Even if you get the same bartender to pour every drink, you can end up with wildly different results that affect your enjoyment. Bars are very busy, and it’s easy for a bartender to go a little light or heavy on the pour.

Canned cocktails don’t have that problem. If you find one you like, you’ll have that same experience every time you crack a can open.

Safety and Comfort:

Going to the bar has its risks. We’ll assume that you’re going to a great bar with staff that protects its customers. So, we won’t even get into the malicious stuff that people can do in bars.

When you go out to drink, you potentially set yourself up for one of the most dangerous drinking mistakes; driving while you’re intoxicated. You might feel pressured to drive home after a couple of drinks, because you don’t want to leave your car there, or you might just be cocky from the alcohol. Either way, it’s dangerous.

Comfort is also a problem at bars. Unless you’re extroverted and enjoy socializing, the bar atmosphere can be very uncomfortable.

With canned cocktails, you don’t have to worry about that. You buy your cocktails, go home, turn on your favorite movie, and have a good time with some snacks. There’s no reason to drive, and you don’t have to worry about being around a bunch of people you don’t know.

When all of these benefits are added up, we think canned cocktails are definitely a great alternative to going to the bar.
